    Description

Lime stucco is a splash-proof and water-repellent 100% natural lime plaster, which is suitable for allergy sufferers and is free of harmful volatile organic compounds. UKU lime stucco is like a work of art, whose pattern reflected in its silky surface creates a luxurious atmosphere with just a few thin layers. Inspired by the Venetian stucco-lustro technique, this material is ideal for interiors, including damp rooms. Stucco is very easy to maintain and has a lifespan of hundreds of years.

Color: white. Can be tinted with colored soils.
    Grain size: 0–0,2 mm
    Suitable substrates:

    Gypsum board (Knauf, Fermacell) plastered
Plasters (clay plaster, lime plaster, mineral plasters)
    Consumption: 0.4 – 0.6kg / m²
Packaging: 1 kg bucket, 5 kg bucket, 10 kg bucket

    Substrate

The substrate must be uniform, dry, absorbent and certainly clean of dust, paints and lubricants (oils, greases, etc.). All surface irregularities remain visible during surface finishing, so the final result depends on the quality of the substrate.

    Conditions

The temperature of the substrate and the surrounding air must be higher than 5°C. The lime carbonizes under the influence of humidity, so overdrying the surface must be avoided (danger of cracks). We recommend priming the substrate with a UKU primer and before starting the installation moisten the substrate again with water. Glass, metal, lacquered surfaces and other surfaces sensitive to lime should be coated before working with the mixture. Small color differences may occur between different batches of the same product due to the small variation of natural raw materials.

    Instruments

Japanese trowel, Venetian trowel, plastic (for smoothing), brush, soap.

    Mixing

Add 0.8-1 liter of clean water to 1 kg of dry mix and mix well. It is best to prepare the mixture the day before plastering, at least 1 hour before use. After standing for a period of time, the plaster must be mixed again.

    Application layer I

Apply the first layer as evenly as possible, observing the pattern in different directions. The first layer is not polished. Use the trowel to remove any excess mixture on top of the rest of the surface. Let it sit for at least a few hours. For a more even surface, 180-240 grit sandpaper can be used.

    Application layer II

After the first coat is visibly dry (and shiny), the next coat(s) can be applied. Follow the application direction and pattern. Try to achieve as uniform a layer thickness as possible. Keep the trowel clean and do not let the material roll between coats. If the surface is completely covered, it should be leveled with a plastic float before polishing. Apply the material in 1-3 layers as needed (depending on the substrate). The finished surface is polished (with different directional movements) with the trowel until you get a deep tone on the wall and natural shine.

    Final finish

After the last layer of stucco is installed and smoothed, a liquid soap is applied with a soft wide brush to the drying surface to create a splash-resistant layer (before 24 hours). Make sure the brush doesn’t pick up the pattern (a sign that it’s too early to apply soap). Soap can also be added during mixing to achieve an even better water-repellent result.
(100 ml 1/6 white soap diluted with water or 100 ml 1/10 black soap diluted per kg of dry mixture). For finishing, we recommend waxing the surface (easy-to-handle carnauba wax). To achieve a high gloss, the surface must be fully polished after waxing. The gap between waxing and soaping should be 4-7 days. maintenance UKU Stucco is antistatic and does not collect dust. As necessary, the wax layer must be renewed from time to time as a result.

    Consumption

    0.4 – 0.6 kg/m²

    Safety

Lime has corrosive properties. Avoid inhalation of dust, contact with skin and eyes. Use mask, safety glasses and suitable clothing. In case of eye contact, flush with saline solution. Keep out of reach of children.

    Preservation

The dry mixture can be stored in a closed package in dry conditions for 1 year. The already mixed color should be kept immersed in water covered with a lid, in cool conditions for up to 6 months. When using, remove the excess water and mix the mixture well again.

The application of the materials must be carried out according to the technical sheet and all drying times must be observed.
