Description
The Marmorino finish is made from high-quality local mineral materials and is inspired by a historical finishing technique imitating marble and natural stone developed by Venetian masters.
Clay Marmorino is an anti-bacterial and anti-mold finish that is suitable for allergy sufferers and is anti-static, free of harmful contaminants and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). UKU Clay Marmorino is a water vapor permeable material with excellent surface resistance and adhesion. The tone may vary depending on the amount of water.
Substrates suitable for direct installation plaster (clay plaster, lime plaster, mineral plasters)
Suitable substrates that are prepared or plastered: plasterboard, plasterboard (Fermacell), wooden boards (screen, Steico, Skano), stone, concrete.
Color: white, snow white, orange, gray, lilac, yellow, red, blue, beige, caramel, black
Granulation size: 0–0.2 mm
Substrate
The substrate must be dry, absorbent and free of dust, paints and lubricants (oils, greases, etc.). All surface irregularities/bumps appear darker during surface finishing, so the even tonality of the final finish depends on
substrate. The more structural the substrate, the higher the consumption of material per square meter. The substrate must not be glossy and slippery (old paint, ceramic tile, glass, metal, etc.)
Conditions
The temperature of the substrate and the ambient air must be higher than 5 ° C. We recommend moistening the substrate just before installation.
Preparation
To 1 kg of dry mixture add 450-500 ml of pure water and mix well until homogeneous. Add ¾ water at first and mix until smooth (make sure there are no lumps) then gradually add the rest of the water. It is best to prepare
the mixture one day before plastering, at least 1 hour before use.
Installation layer I
Check the uniformity of the substrate and remove any irregularities if necessary. If there is dust on the substrate, remove the dust and prime the entire surface with UKU primer. Allow the primer to dry completely and wet the substrate before applying the first coat. Apply the first coat using a Venetian or Japanese trowel. Note that marks or patterns left in the first layer will also appear in the next layer(s). The first coat is not polished and should be sanded with fine sandpaper if excessive gloss appears. To achieve the most uniform finish (tonality), it is recommended to sand the unevenness of the first layer and trowel marks, then remove the dust. At the request of different patterns and structures, the desired mark or pattern is left in the first layer and is amplified/highlighted with the following layers.
Installation level II
After the first layer has visibly dried (it becomes lighter), the next layer can be applied. Note again the direction of the mixture application and the resulting pattern. Keep the trowel clean and do not let material roll between the trowel and the surface of the Marmorino. Apply the material in 2-3 layers as needed. Polish the finished surface (with diagonal movements in different directions) with the Venetian or Japanese trowel (stainless steel) to the desired gloss and the finish is obtained.
Finishing
The surface is left matte. To achieve a high gloss, the surface can be buffed with a soft, lint-free cloth to dry. It also adds wear resistance to the surface.
Maintenance
On-site repairs can be made for any surface damage. For this, it is recommended to keep the finishing material from the same batch in the warehouse. However, the repaired spot will most likely remain slightly visible.
Consumption
Depending on the uniformity of the support and the number of layers 1-1.5 kg/m²
1 kg bucket Water: 0.45-0.5l Coverage: 0.6-1m²
5 kg bucket Water: 2.25-2.5l Coverage: 3.3-5m²
10 kg bucket Water: 4.5-5l Coverage: 6-10m²
Safety
Avoid inhalation of dust and contact with eyes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with saline solution. Keep out of reach of children.
Preservation
Store in a dry place. The validity period is 2 years from the date of manufacture. The date of manufacture is noted on the packaging. There may be slight color differences between batches.
